Our Policy On Claims

  GLICO GENERAL promises to make payment of a claim with all necessary documentations within two (2) to five (5) days, depending on the nature of the claim. To make a claim, kindly write to us, send us an email or call us provided it is within the stated claim period. Alternatively, download the appropriate claim form from "downloads", fill it, sign it, scan it  and send it to us with all appropriate documentations to claims@glicogen.com  or customerservices@glicogroup.com.    
  • MOTOR INSURANCE
    Accidents do occur, and in most cases it is no fault of the vehicle driver. When involved in a motor accident and it happens that someone is injured, attend to the person first. Give him the necessary first aid and arrange to shift the injured to hospital.  
  1. The next steps represent the claim procedure for GLICO GENERAL: 
  • Inform police about the accident
  • Inform GLICO GENERAL about the accident and complete an Accident Report form
  • Submit a photocopy of your driving license and make the original available for inspection
  • Submit all Claims, Writs, and letters unanswered to us.
 
  1. Sometimes, it is difficult to determine who qualifies to make a claim. The following are the categories of persons qualified to make a claim:
  • The Policy Holder (the Insured)
  • Anyone who's property has been destroyed by the insured vehicle
  • Any injured victim(s)
  • The Administrator of a deceased's estate
  • The parents or guardians in the case of a minor.
 
  1. TIME PERIOD IN WHICH TO MAKE A CLAIM
At GLICO GENERAL, there is a period within which claims can be made and this period is set by the National Insurance Commission (NIC) Injury / Death: A claim can be made within three years from date of accident. Damage: A claim can be made within six years from date of accident.    
  • NON MOTOR INSURANCE
  Non-motor insurance comprises several lines of insurance such as fire and allied perils, burglary, public liability, professional indemnity, personal accident, contractors all risks among others.  Each non-motor insurance claim has its own specific claims procedure and conditions which are explained in detailed by our competent and well trained claim staff whenever a claim is made.    Generally, however, when an accident occurs the insured should:  
  • Inform the police.
  • Contact GLICO GENERAL giving a description of the accident and fill the specific claim form.
  • Submit pictures of the accident if any
  • Submit all relevant documentary evidence in respect of the loss.
  • Submit all Claims, Writs, and letters unanswered to us
